Bare necessities & Fickle Hill Billies Rock the Bayside Grange for Blue Ox Radio

The Bear Necessities and the Fickle HillBillies will be performing  a benefit concert for Blue Ox Youth and Community Radio on April 9th at the Bayside Grange from 8 p.m. to midnight. COME ROCK OUT! and enjoy local micro brews and goodies and support Blue Ox Radio’s campaign to stream on the internet.  Only $8 at the door!

Local businesses and artists have come together to show their support for Blue Ox Radio’s efforts to stream on the internet by donating goods and gift certificates to our this fundraiser.  We wish to thank everyone for all of their support!  This community is always so generous and supportive!

For the Bayside Grange Bare Necessities & Fickle Hill Billies benefit event on April 9th from 8pm to Midnight, the following local businesses have donated Gift Certificates and Items that will be served to our guests or raffled off throughout the evening: Wildberries Market Place, The North Coast Co-op, Safeway, Ray’s Food Place, Coca-Cola Bottling Co, Smugs Pizza, Costco, Ramones Bakery, Drakes Glen Chocolates, Los Bagels, Murphy’s Market, Venlo Chocolates, Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn, Many Hands Gallery, Masseuse Angeline Pittenger, Windspirit Pathways, Humbrews, Finish Country Sauna & Hot Tubs, Cafe Marina & Woodley’s Bar Woodley Island, & Shatzi’s Hidden Treasures.

Benefit Concert for Blue Ox Radio w/Special Guest Performer David Plummer

Mark your calendars! Early on the afternoon of April 9, 2011 will be a Benefit concert for Blue Ox Radio, thanks to our friends at Bounce-A-Palooza and Mantova’s Two Street Music. Award Winning Children’s Songwriter, Singer and Author David Plummer will be performing at 12:30pm and 1:30pm on stage at Bounce-A-Palooza with much fun in between. Half of all Walk In Play proceeds from 12p-3p will be donated to Blue Ox Radio. Guests will pay regular Walk In Play rates for this event.

We will be video taping this event. If you wish to be in the video, we will need you to sign a release and wear a special wristband.

Community Radio Day Coverage

Blue Ox Radio participated in a groundbreaking gathering of local non-profit radio producers, with our own Viviana Hollenbeck and Larry Jackson sharing the stage with reps from KHSU, KMUD, KIDE, radio pirates and more! Produced by Access Humboldt, this show was directed and edited by our Vagabond Rock host Charles Douglas with the help of numerous other fantastic volunteers!
